The garden is a special feature of the property and is landscaped into 3 main sections.

The First section - is planted in a Japanese Zen garden style with stone paving, a narrow long fish pond and banks of Japanese Maple trees. The entrance to the garden is via the French doors of the downstairs kitchen and there is also an oak gate to the side passage which leads to the street. ( then continue as before) Steps lead up to a grass path bordered with Azaleas and Rhododendrons. There is a second path leading to a greenhouse and raised beds with roses and raspberry canes.

The second section is an open paved area dominated by a large square fish pond with waterlilies, a sculpture and a wooden bridge. There are garden tables and comfy wooden armchairs and a summer house with a veranda overlooking the pond. The summer house can be used as a spare bedroom as it has a toilet and shower room and a small kitchen area, a double bed etc... or enjoyed as a lovely place to relax or have as a writers retreat.

The third section - of the garden, is approached through a second cast iron gate and a path which leads to the back gate of the property. There is a large Magnolia and a plum and apple trees here and the path is bordered with pyramid shaped box. The back gate leads onto the Warnford grounds with the lovely trees and cricket field and there is access to the road to Headington with the hospitals and Brookes University.

The summer house

The little summer house is at the end of a lovely garden. The cottage is very light with 7 double glazed windows and has a veranda looking over a large pond. It comprises one room with room for a large double bed, table and chairs, chest-of-drawers and hanging space. There is a partitioned shower and toilet room as well as a small kitchen area for basic cooking.
